Tesla Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) chair Robyn Denholm has publicly denied claims that the company’s board is searching for a new chief executive to replace Elon Musk.
A Wall Street Journal report had alleged that board members contacted executive search firms last month, citing concerns over Musk’s time spent on political duties under the Trump administration.
Taking to X, Denholm called the story “absolutely false” and said the board remains “highly confident” in Musk’s leadership.
Musk also dismissed the report as “deliberately false.”
Investor concerns have grown as Tesla faces slowing electric vehicle sales, rising competition, and Musk’s controversial political views.
While Musk has promised to devote more time to Tesla, speculation over succession planning continues.
