Northern Superior-backed ONGold taps veteran geologist to lead Monument Bay reactivation

Northern Superior Resources Inc. (TSX-V:SUP, OTCQX:NSUPF) said on Wednesday that ONGold has appointed veteran geologist Paul Dunbar as vice-president, exploration, to spearhead a renewed push at its Monument Bay gold project in Manitoba.

Dunbar brings nearly four decades of experience in global gold exploration and development. He most recently served as Director of Exploration at Argonaut Gold Inc., where he led the resource expansion and development of the Magino gold mine in Ontario, a 10,000-tonne-per-day operation acquired by Alamos Gold in 2024.

Northern Superior holds a 62% equity stake in ONGold, while Agnico Eagle Mines Ltd owns 15%.

In his new role, Dunbar will lead the reactivation of exploration at Monument Bay, including a detailed review of the project's gold and tungsten resources and the launch of a Phase I field program targeting five newly identified zones that ONGold has flagged as high-priority targets for potential resource expansion.

The Monument Bay project, which ONGold acquired in 2024, contains historical estimates of 2.3 million ounces of gold in measured and indicated resources, and 720,000 ounces in inferred resources.

“Paul Dunbar brings the right balance of grassroots exploration planning and expansive gold resource development expertise to our team,” said ONGold CEO Kyle Stanfield. “With the planned reactivation of exploration activities at Monument Bay, we are excited about next steps as we enter an unprecedented gold price environment.”

ONGold also said it has engaged geologist Wally Dzick to re-evaluate Monument Bay’s historical gold-tungsten resources. Dzick, who previously held senior roles at Barrick Gold and Newmont Mining, will oversee resource modeling and incorporate new data to update the estimates.
