Power Metallic expands Lion Zone with deep drilling

Power Metallic Mines Inc (TSX-V:PNPN, OTCQB:PNPNF) has reported encouraging results from five drill holes targeting the deeper plunge of the Lion Zone at its Nisk polymetallic project in Quebec as part of its winter 2025 exploration program.

Drilling was focused on extending known mineralization and testing a significant off-hole borehole electromagnetic (BHEM) anomaly identified in a previous hole, Power Metallic said on Wednesday.

The holes intersected Lion-style polymetallic mineralization across varying intervals, with highlights including 1.95 meters grading 13.54 grams per ton (g/t) gold, 236.6 g/t silver, and 1.08% copper in one of the deeper holes.

This high-grade interval was encountered within an ultramafic layered intrusion, a host unit not previously known to be mineralized in the Lion Zone area, raising the possibility of a new mineralized stratigraphic sequence within the system, the company noted.

Another drill hole on the eastern margin intersected a similar 1.95-meter interval with 7.78% copper, 50.68 g/t silver, and notable platinum group element and nickel values. Within that, a half-meter section returned 29.3% copper, 188 g/t silver, and 1.3% nickel, among other metals.

While some holes intercepted broader zones of lower-grade disseminated mineralization in the hangingwall, others returned narrower but significantly higher-grade intervals, particularly on the eastern side of the zone.

The copper-dominant nature of the massive sulphides in this area contrasts with shallower parts of the system, which were more enriched in precious metals such as platinum, palladium, and gold.

These results point to a potential shift in the style of mineralization at depth and along plunge, possibly indicating proximity to a nickel-copper massive sulphide source, the company noted.

"With each set of assays, we are growing the Lion Zone. We are also still learning. We are defining some of the borders of the Zone even as we are advancing it at depth,” Power Metallic CEO Terry Lynch said in a statement.

“The high-grade hits here are exciting and we think meaningful clues on richer mineralized areas that are in close proximity.”

Assay results are pending from the rest of the company’s 2025 program, including 9 holes from definition drilling at Lion and four holes from the Nisk deposit area.
