BOA Resources Ltd continued to progress preparations for drilling across its lithium and nickel exploration portfolio in Western Australia during the March quarter.
Drill plans for later in 2025
Subject to final heritage and permitting approvals, the company plans to drill its core Bald Hill East, Cat Camp and Fraser South tenements later in 2025.
Over at Bald Hill East, two kilometres from the Bald Hill lithium mine, BOA is targeting a potential extension to the known lithium mineralisation – but delays in completing heritage surveys have pushed the drilling timeline into the second half of the year.
At Cat Camp, situated in the Lake Johnston/Lake Percy region, drilling will focus on areas of known pegmatites and nickel mineralisation.
Shallow, thick pegmatites and surface geochemistry indicating anomalous lithium concentrations have been identified as priority targets.
In the Fraser Range, BOA is preparing to drill the Snowys Prospect at Fraser South following completion of heritage surveys and approval of its Conservation Management Plan – a final program of work approval is pending.
Strong nickel-cobalt target
Snowys represents a high-priority target, interpreted as a potential Nova-style nickel-copper-cobalt or Andromeda-style base metal system based on strong electromagnetic conductivity anomalies.
Separately, BOA completed the handover from IGO Limited (ASX:IGO) of the Transline North and Transline South tenements, which include the Eggpie and Ballast NE nickel targets.
The company is reviewing exploration data collected by IGO prior to planning further activities.
During the quarter, BOA relinquished the Koongulla South and Koongulla East tenements in the Paterson region after unsuccessful efforts to secure a joint venture partner.
The company continues to review and rationalise its tenement portfolio, focusing on high-potential exploration opportunities and evaluating new project acquisitions to align with its growth objectives.
Cash in the bank
BOA finished the quarter with A$1.07 million in cash and no debt, maintaining a strong financial position to support planned exploration activities.
Looking ahead, drilling at the Bald Hill East, Cat Camp, and Fraser South projects is expected to kick off once remaining approvals are finalised, with the company keen to continue its portfolio optimisation strategy to maximise exploration success.
