Slate, an electric vehicle startup backed by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, has unveiled a low-cost electric pickup truck.
The vehicle has a starting price of just $20,000 after a $7,500 federal EV tax credit.
The vehicle, simply named the Slate Truck, is designed as a bare-bones, highly customizable option.
The truck can be converted into a five-seat SUV with a kit. Consumers can add features like external speakers, paint wraps, and other accessories, which can increase the price by about $10,000.
The vehicle is less than 15 feet in length, similar to a 1985 Toyota pickup and about two-thirds the size of a Chevy Silverado EV.

Slate described the vehicle as a “radically simple” electric pickup trucks.
Vehicle deliveries are expected to commence in late 2026.
