Nanoco Group PLC (LSE:NANO) said it has filed a lawsuit in the United States against LG Electronics for alleged infringement of its quantum dot technology patents.
The case was filed in the Eastern District of Texas and covers four patents.
Nanoco is seeking a permanent injunction and monetary damages, and is being represented by Caldwell, Cassady and Curry, which previously worked for Nanoco in a successful case against Samsung.
The company said it remains open to a commercial resolution but believes legal action is currently in shareholders’ best interest.
In London, Nanoco shares were up 13% at 8.56p, having traded as high as 9.34p in earlier dealing. At this level, the shares are worth around £16.5 million.
