Vast Resources PLC (AIM:VAST) shares traded higher on Friday thanks to a project update, covering its assets in Romania and Tajikistan.
Also, Vast separately announced the release of a diamond parcel that has been held at the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe, by order of the country’s courts, since early 2010.
Vast said the release “underlines that Zimbabwe is truly open for business for companies that wish to comply with due process.”
In Romania, meanwhile, at the Baita Plai site the company said 13,562 tonnes were mined in the second half of 2024, yielding 307.8 tonnes of copper concentrate at an average grade of 18.06%.
Vast added that it has begun development at the former Hanes Gold Mine and expects it will yield production this quarter. It also confirmed discussions are underway to restart operations at Manaila in the second half of 2025.
At the Blueberry Gold Project there was an increase in gold recovery to 77% through a new non-cyanide method tested in Tajikistan.
In Tajikistan, meanwhile, silver production at Aprelevka doubled in March.
Vast shares rose as much as 40% at one point in Friday’s early deals. Then, changing hands at 0.54p were up 21%.
