Valereum PLC (AQSE:VLRM) said Carmen Elena Ochoa de Medina, Head of El Salvador for VLRM Markets, was part of a four-person delegation that met with the US Securities and Exchange Commission on 22 April 2025.
The meeting focused on exploring a cross-border digital asset regulatory sandbox.
The initiative would allow product testing under the joint oversight of US and Salvadoran regulators.
Two pilot programs were proposed - one involves a US broker working with a Salvadoran tokenisation firm on real estate projects, the other involves capital raising for a Salvadoran small business using tokenised equity.
“We are thrilled that Carmen participated in this inaugural meeting with the SEC,” said Adrian Hogg, head of VLRM Markets.
“Being part of such a prestigious delegation and having the opportunity to contribute to the conversation with the SEC is an important step for VLRM Markets.
“It showcases our commitment to playing a leading role in the global digital asset tokenisation."
