Valereum PLC (AQSE:VLRM) is gearing up to open its new trading platform and digital wallet service next month, in a move it hopes will place it at the centre of the burgeoning market for tokenised real-world assets.
The firm has instructed its subsidiary, VLRM Markets, to begin operations in May.
Based in El Salvador, the venture holds a licence from the country’s Comisión Nacional de Activos Digitales (CNAD), giving it the green light to run a broad digital asset operation under the country's relatively crypto-friendly rules.
VLRM’s offering includes a platform for the creation, trading and issuance of tokenised real-world assets, known in the sector as RWAs, and a retail-facing digital wallet called the V-Wallet.
A professional-grade service, VLRM Markets PRO, will cater to institutions with over-the-counter (OTC) trading and asset custody capabilities.
The platform is targeting asset issuers across Central America, including in Costa Rica, Guatemala and Panama, with a focus on sectors such as infrastructure, agriculture and hospitality.
The company said the launch marks a major step in its ambition to bridge traditional finance and blockchain, tapping into a growing interest in digitising tangible assets like property or art, turning them into tokens that can be bought, sold or held using blockchain infrastructure.
