Apple earnings eyed for clues on tariff strategy

Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL, ETR:APC) will report its fiscal second quarter earnings after markets close on Thursday, with investors focused on management commentary about how the company is navigating new US tariffs.

The Trump administration’s tariffs, notably those on China, could see the iPhone maker raise its prices or deploy other cost-mitigation strategies.

For Q2, Apple is expected to report revenue of $93.6 billion, up about 3% year-over-year.

Earnings per share are expected to increase to $1.60 from $1.53 in the year-ago period, marking an increase of 4.6%.

Services revenue is expected to grow by approximately 12% year-over-year, continuing to offset slower growth in hardware sales.

iPhone sales, which made up 56% of the company’s revenue last quarter, will also be closely watched by investors.

Shares of Apple traded hands at $213 on Wednesday afternoon, down more than 15% so far this year.
