Voyageur Pharmaceuticals launches contrast media product line following successful clinical results

Voyageur Pharmaceuticals Ltd (TSX-V:VM, OTC:VYYRF) announced that it has begun the market introduction of its new line of barium contrast media products in Canada and select international markets that accept Health Canada standards.

The company is targeting jurisdictions aligned with Health Canada standards for initial distribution and is now providing product samples to diagnostic centers for evaluation.

This test marketing phase is a prerequisite before formal orders can be placed.

“This milestone marks a transformative moment for Voyageur Pharmaceuticals as we begin the market introduction of our innovative barium contrast product line in Canada,” Voyageur Pharmaceuticals CEO Brent Willis said in a statement.

“It represents a critical first step in our broader commercialization strategy and reinforces our commitment to vertical integration and supply chain security.”

The launch follows successful clinical evaluations conducted at Canada Diagnostic Centres (CDC) in Calgary, where the products were tested on 24 subjects.

Radiologists involved in the study reported favorable results, noting image quality and product performance comparable to existing market options.

Voyageur's initial product line includes SmoothX, SmoothHD 105%, SmoothLD, VisionHD, and VisionLD, covering a range of gastrointestinal imaging applications.

The company also plans to introduce V-Gas, an effervescent granule product currently pending Health Canada licensing.

“As we move forward with plans to expand globally, this launch highlights the growth potential of our business and our dedication to delivering long-term value and innovation to patients, partners, and shareholders alike,” Willis said.

Voyageur is also advancing the Frances Creek project, aiming to vertically integrate its supply chain and support future clinical studies. Phase 2 testing to support US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) licensing under the 505(2)(b) pathway is planned, with a focus on safety, efficacy, and regulatory readiness.

Shares of Voyageur gained 10% at $0.17 on Wednesday morning in Toronto.
