Blockmate Ventures Inc (TSX-V:MATE, OTCQB:MATEF) earlier this week shared an update on the expansion of Hivello, its investee platform that allows users to earn income from underutilized computer resources.
The company said Hivello had now integrated its tenth decentralized physical infrastructure network (DPIN), Swarm. It described Swarm as a decentralized alternative to services such as Amazon AWS and Cloudflare, focused on storage and content delivery.
Blockmate said the addition of Swarm provides users with further opportunities to monetize resources like CPUs, GPUs, and hard drives, even without specialist technical knowledge. The software is designed to be simple to use, with users able to get started by connecting their wallet and launching the program.
The company highlighted that Hivello currently supports nodes that are AI-enabled. It said that around 25% of the nodes on the platform are contributing to AI model training, with thousands of iterations taking place across the system.
Blockmate said it plans to integrate several more networks in 2025, with the aim of giving users even more options to earn income. It added that the long-term strategy is to make resource-sharing in the Web3 space accessible to a broader audience.
