CleanTech Lithium PLC (AIM:CTL, OTCQX:CTLHF) announced it is working with DuPont Water Solutions to test new nanofiltration membrane technology in its lithium processing operations.
DuPont’s FilmTec LiNE-XD membrane will be used to remove impurities and maximise lithium recovery.
The technology is designed for the lithium sector and will be evaluated in the next phase of CleanTech Lithium’s pilot plant testing.
“By leveraging advanced membrane technology, we aim to test if battery-grade lithium carbonate can be produced without the need for thermal evaporation and crystallisation, resulting in potential cost savings and increased efficiency,” said chief executive Ignacio Mehech.
“We look forward to validating this through our upcoming pilot plant downstream operations with our partner Conductive Energy.”
