Nexus Minerals continues momentum with 10,000 metre aircore campaign at Wallbrook Gold Project

Nexus Minerals Ltd has ramped up exploration with a 10,000 metre aircore drilling program at its wholly owned Wallbrook Gold Project in Western Australia’s Eastern Goldfields.

The drilling aims to expand its pipeline of near-surface gold targets through systematic regional exploration.

Drill program

The campaign, located 140 kilometres northeast of Kalgoorlie, will test two new regional targets—MC5.4 and MC4.3—which have not previously been drilled.

Additionally, the program will revisit target MC1.4, where earlier aircore drilling identified significant alteration and anomalous gold mineralisation, marking it as a high-priority follow-up opportunity.

Exploration strategy

This regional drilling initiative forms part of Nexus’ broader exploration strategy, which is designed to generate shallow discoveries capable of contributing to a growing resource base at Wallbrook.

The strategy has already delivered several successful outcomes, with the Payns, Godfreys and Clement prospects all emerging from earlier phases of aircore exploration.

Nexus managing director Andy Tudor said the return of the aircore rig marks another step forward for the company’s systematic exploration effort across the expansive Wallbrook tenement package.

“It is great to see the aircore rig return as momentum continues to build at the Wallbrook Gold Project,” Tudor said.

“This 10,000 metre drill program will assess three compelling regional targets, including following up on target MC1.4 where a significant alteration and anomalous gold footprint was identified in a previous aircore campaign.

“Our systematic exploration approach has seen multiple new gold discoveries in this well-endowed gold region of the Eastern Goldfields of Western Australia. We look forward to sharing updates from this new program as results become available.”

Looking ahead

The current program is expected to be completed in May 2025, with assay results to follow.

Nexus anticipates that further success will underpin the advancement of resource definition drilling and future development studies across its growing portfolio of prospects.
