Discovery Alaska sharpens focus on new project opportunities

Discovery Alaska Ltd is intensifying its search for new mineral projects as part of a broader strategy to enhance its asset portfolio and maximise shareholder value.

During the March quarter, the Australia-based explorer reviewed multiple project opportunities and undertook due diligence on assets that could complement its existing activities. The company confirmed that its efforts are aimed at identifying prospective acquisitions that would broaden its exploration footprint and unlock long-term value.

“Discovery is actively assessing mineral exploration assets that align with its corporate growth strategy,” the company stated. “Following any successful due diligence outcomes, the company will consider the potential to progress such opportunities.”

Review of Alaskan assets

This strategic pivot comes as Discovery undertakes a review of its two wholly owned gold projects in Alaska—the Vinasale and Chulitna projects.

The Vinasale Gold Project, covering approximately 6,500 hectares, is situated around 310 kilometres northwest of Anchorage and 26 kilometres south of McGrath. It lies on land owned by Doyon Limited, an Alaska Native Regional Corporation. Discovery is currently evaluating its strategic direction for the asset.

Meanwhile, the Chulitna Project, spanning 15.5 square kilometres and centred on the Partin Creek gold prospect, is located on public land managed by the State of Alaska and is not subject to any native land claims. The project is positioned near critical infrastructure, including the Parks Highway and Alaska Railroad. A review is also underway to determine the next phase of work for this project.
