capAI shares surge 29% as new AI-led strategy unveiled

Shares in capAI PLC (LSE:CPAI) jumped 29% on Monday after the artificial intelligence company rolled out a revamped operating strategy and unveiled a proposed partnership with Silicon Valley venture capital firm R42.

The AIM-listed firm said it will now pursue a three-part model (Identify, Incubate, and Invent) aimed at building a new generation of AI-powered businesses.

The approach draws on the expertise of board member Professor Ronjon Nag, a Stanford and MIT alumnus with four decades of experience in commercialising emerging technologies.

A core concept behind the shift is the rise of so-called “One-Person Unicorns”: businesses built by individuals or small teams using AI tools that could scale to billion-dollar valuations.

While such ventures may not be truly solo efforts, capAI said they reflect a growing trend in start-up formation powered by automation and lean resourcing.

The company has no current plans to raise new capital and stressed that shareholder dilution would be avoided unless absolutely necessary.

capAI is also in advanced talks with R42, the US-based firm founded by Nag.

The partnership would combine capAI’s public market access with R42’s technical and infrastructure support. The focus will be on breakthrough opportunities in sectors like media and healthcare.

The stock, up 217% in the past month, rose 0.1p to 0.43p.
