Anglo Asian Mining sees strong start as mine ramp up continues

Anglo Asian Mining PLC (AIM:AAZ, OTC:AGXKF) told investors it produced 8,085 gold equivalent ounces in the first quarter of 2025 – it’s the first full quarter of operations since the mine’s shutdown in 2023.

Production comprised 6,029 ounces of gold, 534 tonnes of copper, and 30,321 ounces of silver.

Gold sales of 4,753 ounces were made in the quarter, at an average price of $2,843 per ounce. And, the company said it generated a net cash inflow of $1 million.

The quarter also saw first ore extracted from the Gilar mine, and ‘full production’ is expected to get underway in May.

"I am pleased to report our first full quarter of production following the restart of operations in the final quarter of last year,” chief executive Reza Vaziri said.

He added: “This strong start to 2025 is very encouraging as we ramp up production and execute our medium-term growth strategy to transition to a mid-tier, primarily copper-focused producer.

“Gilar entering full production in May will be another key milestone and we are making important progress across our developmental portfolio. I look forward to providing further updates in the coming months."
