4GLOBAL PLC (AIM:4GBL) has secured an 18-month contract with UK Sport to help bring greater use of data and digital tools to Olympic and Paralympic sport in the UK.
The deal, worth around £500,000, was awarded after a competitive tender process and marks a significant step in 4GLOBAL’s push to expand its presence in elite performance sport.
The company will lead a pilot project designed to improve how national governing bodies (NGBs) collect, use and share information.
The aim is to make decision-making more consistent and data-driven across publicly funded sports organisations while improving governance and laying the groundwork for future technologies such as artificial intelligence.
The project will use 4GLOBAL’s recently launched Insight.OS platform, which allows organisations to analyse performance and investment trends more efficiently. The company said its existing dataset and shift towards scalable, off-the-shelf products played a key role in winning the contract.
The pilot is expected to strengthen 4GLOBAL’s existing relationship with UK Sport and could evolve into a longer-term partnership.
It also builds on a similar deal announced earlier this year with Sport England, giving the company a leading role in the digital infrastructure of both community and elite-level sport in the UK.
