Far East Gold CEO Shane Menere talked with Proactive about recent high-grade and bonanza-grade gold assay results from surface grab sampling at the Idenburg Project.
Menere revealed the discovery of a new quartz vein zone east of the Burmol prospect, bringing the total number of known prospect areas within the project to fifteen.
Menere highlighted how just 30% of the Idenburg area has been explored to date.
The discovery has prompted an expansion of the company's drilling strategy, with the initial phase to include 32 drill holes across 3,670 metres. The intention, Menere said, is to extend the maiden JORC resource of 540,000 ounces at 4.1 grams per tonne. Drilling rigs are already en route.
Looking ahead, Menere noted potential for high-grade gold and silver intercepts, along with other base metals including lead, zinc, and antimony. “It’s quickly shaping up to be something of, really, you know, global significance,” he said, as Far East Gold prepares to test deeper targets.
