Riversgold Reveals “Game-changing” geophysical signatures at Saint John project in Canada

Riversgold Ltd has delivered “game-changing” geophysical signatures from its Prince of Wales Prospect, situated within the Saint John antimony, gold, copper and silver project in New Brunswick, Canada.

The company highlighted very high chargeability and low resistivity of a sulphide sample at the project.

Petrophysical testing on sample RK008302, which previously returned 10.15% copper and 65.8 grams per tonne silver, showed very high induced polarisation (IP) and chargeability values between 210 and 220 milliseconds, along with low resistivity levels of approximately 1–4 siemens per metre.

As a result, the mineralisation has a distinct geophysical footprint, making it well suited to airborne and ground-based detection techniques.

“Real Gamechanger”

Riversgold chairman David Lenigas said: “This result is a real gamechanger for how we target copper sulphide mineralisation at Saint John.

“Surface assays to date have impressed with stellar grades of copper, gold, silver and antimony at this discovery in New Brunswick, Canada, where multiple multi-metal targets are being defined over the ~25 km strike of the project area.

“The results from the petrophysics tests on this sulphide sample give us a tremendously strong geophysical signature of the mineralisation we are looking for, and it is great that airborne techniques can be utilised to further test the Saint John Project.

“I look forward to further updates from current site activities and I am very pleased with the great start to 2025.”

Suggested exploration methods

The project spans 101 square kilometres and lies 50 kilometres from the United States border, benefiting from strong infrastructure and Tier-1 jurisdiction status.

Given the results, Riversgold has deemed Drone Mobile Magnetotellurics (MobileMT) an appropriate exploration tool for the project.

The company plans to use ground-based IP/resistivity surveys to follow up on localised anomalies identified by the MobileMT program.

A 2,000-metre drilling program, fully permitted since January, is expected to follow the geophysical and geochemical groundwork.

In addition to the Prince of Wales Prospect, geochemical sampling is underway at the Little Lepreau Prospect, where multiple high-grade rock-chip samples have returned encouraging values for antimony, gold, copper and silver.
