Pantoro uncovers more high-grade gold in OK Underground drilling campaign

Pantoro Gold Ltd has reported multiple high-grade gold intersections from its ongoing extensional and infill drilling campaign at the OK Underground Mine, part of its wholly owned Norseman Gold Project in Western Australia.

The current phase of the drilling program, launched in late 2024, is focused on expanding mineralisation at the Star of Erin and O2 Lodes. A dedicated diamond rig is operating continuously to test extensions down-dip and along strike beyond the existing Ore Reserve and Mineral Resource limits.

Notable assay results include:

  • 10.15 metres at 44.39 grams per tonne (g/t) gold, including 4.08 metres at 106.53 g/t gold
  • 2.72 metres at 139.08 g/t gold
  • 3.94 metres at 101.71 g/t gold, including 0.47 metres at 836 g/t gold
  • 0.41 metres at 200.42 g/t gold, including 0.2 metres at 408 g/t gold

Other significant results range between 10.2 g/t and 89.83 g/t gold over intercepts of less than three metres.

“The OK Underground Mine has been a strong performer since operations recommenced at Norseman. Annual production is tracking ahead of feasibility expectations and mined grades year-to-date have exceeded the Ore Reserve grade. We are confident the ongoing extensional drilling program will continue to deliver strong results and support an extended mine life at OK,” Pantoro managing director Paul Cmrlec said.

Year on year growth

Since mining started in 2022, the OK Underground Mine has achieved year-on-year growth in its Ore Reserve, underpinned by development and grade control drilling that has confirmed increases in ore strike length, width and grade.

The current campaign marks the first dedicated extensional program since the 2020 feasibility study.

The OK Underground Mine is approximately two kilometres south of the newly commissioned 1.2 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) Norseman Processing Plant.

The mineralised reefs at OK trend predominantly northeast to east and are sub-vertical in orientation. Initially developed in the 1930s, the mine remained dormant until 1980, when Central Norseman Gold Corporation (CNGC) reopened the shaft.

Mining operations resumed in May 2022, with development efforts centred on the Star of Erin and O2 Lodes. The gold is free milling and typically occurs in laminated quartz veins, often containing visible gold.
