After making gains earlier in the session, shares of technology giants plunged on the news that US president Donald Trump plans to impose additional tariffs on China.

The White House confirmed it plans to add another 50% tariff on Chinese goods, bringing the total tariff rate to 104%.

Thor Explorations Ltd (TSX-V:THX, AIM:THX, OTC:THXPF) shares started higher as the gold miner reported record revenue and net profit for 2024, and declared its maiden dividend.

Revenue rose to $193.1 million, from $141.25 million in the previous year, with some 84,965 ounces of gold sold at an average realised price of $2,288 per ounce.

Marvell Technology Group Ltd. (NASDAQ:MRVL) is selling its Automotive Ethernet business to Germany’s Infineon Technologies for about $2.5 billion in cash, as the US chipmaker sharpens its focus on the fast-growing data center market.

The transaction, expected to close by the end of the year, includes Marvell’s Brightlane portfolio and is projected to generate between $225 million and $250 million in revenue in fiscal 2026, the companies said.
