Ramsdens shares rise 12% as profit guidance lifted on strong gold and retail performance

Shares in Ramsdens Holdings PLC (AIM:RFX) rose 12% in early trading after the financial services and jewellery retailer said full-year profit would come in ahead of expectations, driven by strength across its core businesses and continued support from high gold prices.

The group now expects pre-tax profit for the year to September 2025 to be at least £13 million, up from £11.4 million last year.

Sales of precious metals rose sharply, with gross profit in that segment up 50% on the same period last year. Jewellery retail and pawnbroking also delivered double-digit profit growth, helped by the launch of dedicated customer websites.

The company said its international money transfer service had gone live, while its multi-currency card continued to perform well. Ramsdens operates 169 stores and opened new branches in Grantham and Burton during the half.

The stock was up 25p at 230p.
