SolGold reports strong visual signs of copper in latest hole

SolGold (LON:SOLG) has reported strong visual signs of copper in the 11th hole drilled at Cascabel in Ecuador.

The copper occurred between 996m and the current hole depth of 1,128m, extending the metal strike hit so far at the Alpala target at the prospect to over 375m in length and 300m thick.

“Encouragingly, the zone is highly complex, variable and strongly faulted, providing significant opportunity for extensive and intense mineralisation to be encountered in Hole 11,” said the company.

The drill hole is testing an area 200m south of the centre of the large T1 geophysical target and had extended the known high grade zone at Alpala Central a further 100m northwest.

Final assay results from Hole 10 also support this despite it being halted early, SolGold said, with an open ended intersection of 220m at 0.58% copper and 0.59g/t gold.

Earlier drilling at Cascabel had hit high grade zones in Holes 5 and 9 located to the southeast.

Hole 5 made an intersection of 552m at 1.05% copper and 1.08g/t gold, which SolGold described as world class.
