Alkane Resources Ltd has made multiple high-grade gold discoveries following ongoing underground resource expansion and grade control drilling at its Tomingley Gold Operations in Central West New South Wales.
Resource expansion potential
Alkane managing director Nic Earner said: “Most of Tomingley’s deposits remain open at depth and along strike. This drilling further demonstrates the significant resource expansion potential across the mine site. Underground drilling continues at other deposits.
“We will now evaluate the economic recovery potential of these new Caloma One lodes, which may result in further drilling to allow inclusion into our reserves. The Roswell pre-mine grade control results will be used in future updates to the reserve.
“The Tomingley orebody continues to demonstrate both widespread mineralisation and high-grade lodes, demonstrated at Caloma by CL1UG253D with 3.1 metres grading 196.95g/t gold and at Roswell by ROSUG513D with 58 metres grading 11.59g/t gold.
“We look forward to mining through these areas in the years ahead at Tomingley.”
At the Caloma One deposit, the company has wrapped up 71 drill holes across 15,264 metres as part of a targeted campaign to test mineralised structures adjacent to defined resources.
The drilling successfully intersected multiple lodes, including Lodes 13, 18, 19, 54 and 58, with highlights such as 10.8 metres at 4.73 g/t gold and 3.1 metres at 196.95 g/t gold.
The Caloma One system spans some 600 metres of north-south strike and includes multiple lodes, many of which were partially mined during previous open-pit operations.
The recent underground program focuses on identifying new extensions and improving the confidence level in resource classification, targeting potential inclusion in future reserve estimates.
Roswell also returns strong gold
Meanwhile, at the Roswell deposit, an infill diamond drilling program has returned further broad and high-grade gold intercepts from Lodes 2 and 6.
Results from 13 holes covering 2,395 metres include standout intercepts such as 58 metres at 11.59 g/t gold and 57.05 metres at 3.84 g/t gold.
These results are expected to support upcoming reserve updates and underpin future stope development.
The current program at Roswell is being drilled from the 1010 level drill platform using a nominal 15 by 20 metre pattern, aiming to convert Indicated and Inferred resources into Ore Reserves.
The broader Roswell and San Antonio deposits define a mineralised corridor extending over 1.5 kilometres in length.
Underground exploration drilling continues across the broader Tomingley operation, including Caloma Two, Wyoming One and Roswell, as Alkane advances its strategy to expand its underground gold resource base and support ongoing production from its one million tonne per annum processing facility.
