Nextech adds human product photography to AI studio - ICYMI

Nextech3D.AI (CSE:NTAR, OTCQX:NEXCF) CEO Evan Gappelberg talked with Proactive about the company’s latest advancement in AI-powered content creation for e-commerce.

Gappelberg announced the launch of a new content studio featuring AI-generated lifestyle product photography using photorealistic virtual humans.

Proactive: All right, welcome back inside our Proactive newsroom. And joining me now is Evan Gappelberg. He is the CEO of Nextech3D.AI. And Evan, it's good to see you. How are you?

Evan Gappelberg: I'm good. Great to be back.

Yeah. So the company — you mentioned that there are a number of tools that are going to be coming out, especially with AI. And now you're launching a content studio. So tell me a little bit about it, Evan.

Sure. So, you know, we've told our shareholders that we have this AI-first initiative. We use AI to create 3D models. Last week we announced an AI chatbot. Today, we're announcing that our photography studio can create virtual humans in lifestyle AI product photography — which is no easy feat.

This is not simple photography. If you look at our AI-generated humans, they look extremely real. I cannot tell the difference, Steve. This is really game-changing technology — being able to have photorealistic AI humans in lifestyle images with products. For example, in today’s press release, there's a woman holding a pocketbook. In another version, the woman is wearing glasses. These product images are absolutely stunning.

It's all part of our strategy to create an e-commerce platform that allows businesses to scale this kind of content — thousands of photos in days, at extremely reasonable cost compared to hiring models and doing real photoshoots.

Yeah, because you’d have to do wardrobe changes, style changes, book a photographer. It sounds like this is sort of the wave of the future, if that’s a fair way to describe it?

It is. There's no doubt about it. It's quite disruptive for the photography industry. Unfortunately, you don’t need photographers. And unfortunately, you don’t need models — because now the models are created by AI.

This is just one industry being disrupted by AI. We’ve also talked about try-on technology being the holy grail for e-commerce and 3D. I used to think we’d need a 3D model of a person, with fabric laying on them just right to look real — and nobody's cracked that code. But this new AI technology — using AI humans in photos — creates the virtual try-on.

So you can have a jacket or a suit superimposed on a virtual human, and you now have this try-on capability. We think it’s a big deal. This release has been years in the making. We’ve been working on the AI for a while, and our customers are quite excited about it too.

And just lastly — is speed and lower cost the two big things we should know about this?

Yeah. It’s disruptive — meaning it’s so much faster, cheaper, and better. You can do this 24/7, 365. There are no limitations. Nobody ever gets sick. You can have people working in different parts of the globe creating this content. So yeah, it’s a lot cheaper, faster, and better. And it really is the next generation of e-commerce photography for products.
