Barclays reportedly sell the family yacht

The Barclay family has reportedly sold its superyacht Lady Beatrice as part of a broader effort to offload assets and repay debts.

The 60-metre yacht, named after the late mother of Sir David and Sir Frederick Barclay, was purchased by financier Peter Dubens through a Bermuda-based company, according to the Times.

While the sale price wasn’t disclosed, the vessel had been listed for €22 million. Built in 1993, the yacht features 16 guest suites and lavish interiors designed by the Barclay twins.

The sale comes amid ongoing financial pressures following Sir David’s death in 2021. Creditors, including Lloyds Bank, have since seized control of Telegraph Media Group. Its potential sale by RedBird IMI, a UAE-backed venture, has stalled due to UK government concerns over foreign influence.
