Volkswagen Group (XETRA:VOW) is planning to slap an "import fee" to the stickers on imported cars affected by new 25% US tariffs.
The German car manufacturer has also temporarily halted rail deliveries from Mexico and vehicles about to be shipped from Europe, the Wall Street Journal reported.
Citing a memo sent by the company, the report said the halt would be temporary as it works with logistics companies "to optimize vehicle movement once the tariff situation stabilizes".
Dealers were told that in the next few weeks there would be more details on new pricing strategies for tariff-affected cars.
"We want to be very transparent about navigating through this time of uncertainty," Volkswagen told the paper.
