Shares in Switch Metals Plc edged up on their first day of trading on London’s AIM market, giving the newly listed West African mining explorer a modest debut premium.
The company, which raised £2mn at 7.5p a share ahead of the float, is focusing on early-stage development of battery and tech metal projects in Côte d’Ivoire.
Its flagship site, Issia, is home to shallow deposits of coltan, a key source of tantalum used in electronics.
Switch aims to start small-scale, ethical production there to generate early cash flow and reduce the need for further fundraising.
Alongside Issia, it is also exploring two other sites, Tiassalé and Bouaké, covering a combined area of over 3,100km².
These projects host historical signs of tantalum, lithium, nickel, and other critical minerals.
The company’s market value at listing stands at around £8.8 million. The funds raised will support exploration and resource definition at Issia.
In early exchanges, the stock was marked up to 8p.
