Riversgold Ltd continues to build on the potential of its Kalgoorlie East Gold Project with further encouraging gold intercepts from reverse circulation (RC) drilling at the Northern Zone Intrusive Hosted Gold Project, 25 kilometres east of Kalgoorlie in WA.
Footprint increases
Chair David Lenigas said: “These results complement our recently released results from the beginning of this drill program, and those released since late 2023, as we continue to increase the footprint of the gold mineralisation at Northern Zone.
“The results continue to meet and exceed our expectations, revealing good gold tenor within the shallower oxide gold mineralisation at the top of this considerable mineralised porphyry.
“We have a further 1,756 samples in the lab awaiting assay from 36 drill holes, that will continue the company’s consistent and regular news releases, reporting gold results as we advance the Kal East – Northern Zone Project, and report on progress at our new early stage gold, copper silver and antinomy discovery in New Brunswick.”
Assay results from five RC drill holes of an 11-hole, 1,289-metre program confirm the presence of high-grade zones within broader halos of lower-grade mineralisation.
Highlights include 6 metres at 6.12 g/t gold from 35 metres, 5 metres at 1.72g/t from 39 metres and 15 metres at 0.75g/t from 35 metres.
A further 1,756 samples from 36 RC and aircore drill holes have been submitted for assay, with results expected over the coming weeks.
These include 453 samples from four additional RC holes and 1,303 samples from a 32-hole aircore program targeting oxide mineralisation.
Scale and potential
The results confirm and extend shallow mineralisation associated with the porphyry system at Northern Zone, which bolsters both the project's scale and its potential.
The company will update its Leapfrog geological model to incorporate the new data and guide further exploration.
Riversgold is also assessing potential processing options, noting the success of Black Cat Syndicate Limited’s nearby Myhree/Boundary open pits and drawing conceptual comparisons to Saturn Metals Limited’s Apollo Hill Gold Project, which supports the feasibility of a large-scale, low-grade operation.
