Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) and Meta Platforms Inc (NASDAQ:META, ETR:FB2A, SWX:FB) have announced a multi-year partnership aimed at boosting fan engagement using Meta’s technologies.
Meta has been named UFC's first-ever "Official Fan Technology Partner," marking a significant step in integrating technology into sports entertainment.
This includes leveraging Meta's platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Threads, Meta AI, Meta Glasses, and Meta Quest to enhance fan experiences.
The partnership will introduce innovative features like AI-powered glasses for capturing UFC content and immersive experiences during events.
Threads, Meta's text-based platform, will serve as UFC's official social media partner, offering exclusive content and fostering community engagement.
“Meta has the greatest minds in tech and they are going to take fan engagement to the next level,” UFC CEO Dana White said in a statement.
White also revealed plans to work with Meta on a new fighter ranking system powered by its technologies, expected to debut later this year.
Mark Zuckerberg, Meta CEO, added: “I love this sport and I’m looking forward to working with the UFC to let fans experience it in new ways.”
