Voyageur Pharmaceuticals Ltd (TSX-V:VM, OTC:VYYRF) announced that it has completed human testing of its Health Canada-licensed barium contrast media products and is preparing for its launch in Canada.
The study involved 24 test subjects who received oral doses of Voyageur’s contrast agents, followed by diagnostic imaging.
The company’s radiology team and Scientific Advisory Board are conducting a final analysis of the imaging results.
The review is expected to conclude within 30 days, after which Voyageur will begin market testing and initial sales in Canada.
The company is also in discussions with international distributors in regions that recognize Health Canada’s medical product approvals.
Following the Canadian launch, Voyageur will start phase two testing to support US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) licensing.
This phase will focus on clinical and operational data, assessing safety, efficacy, and regulatory compliance.
Voyageur’s contrast media formulations are designed to enhance image clarity for gastrointestinal radiographic procedures.
Shares of Voyageur moved 5.9% higher in Toronto on Tuesday morning.
