Nexus Minerals Ltd has leveraged a 313-hole, 11,691-metre air core drilling program at the Wallbrook Gold Project in Western Australia to extend the Payns Find Gold target, now stretching over a 900-metre by 750-metre area.
The drilling program also produced results of up to 4 metres at 5.40 g/t gold from 28 metres and 8 metres at 2.72 g/t gold with a higher-grade component of 4 metres at 4.39 g/t gold from 24 metres.
Given the target’s position along strike from major gold deposits being mined by Northern Star Resources, and the high-grade results from this latest program, Nexus intends to follow-up with a reverse circulation (RC) drilling program in the near future.
Results continue to validate Payns potential
“Payns Prospect has once again provided some great broad high-grade gold results for the Wallbrook Gold Project,” Nexus Minerals managing director Andy Tudor said.
“The expanded mineralised zone now covers some 900 metres by 750 metres of prospective geology and mineralisation.
“The prospect is ideally situated, located immediately along strike of major deposits currently being mined by Northern Star Resources.
“The tenor and spatial significance of gold mineralisation identified to date represents a major regional success, and observation of visible gold further supports our confidence in the ongoing potential at the Payns prospect.
“The prospect already ranks highly in regard to our regional exploration targeting program, and as such RC drill hole planning has now commenced.
“We already have the next air core drill program confirmed to commence in mid-April, as assessment and ranking of priority regional targets accelerates.
“We look forward to sharing the results of MC2.1 and MC5.3 by the end of April.”
Nexus intends to begin its next regional air core drilling program in mid-April, with results from the MC2.1 and MC5.3 prospects to be published at the end of that month.

The full set of notable assay results from Payns prospect drilling include:
- 4 metres at 5.40 g/t gold from 28 metres;
- 8 metres at 2.72 g/t gold, including 4 metres at 4.39 g/t gold from 24 metres
- 8 metres at 2.73 g/t gold, including 4 metres at 3.82 g/t gold from 32 metres
- 12 metres at 1.31 g/t gold, including 4 metres at 3.58 g/t gold from 20 metres
- 8 metres at 1.47 g/t gold, including 4 metres at 2.80 g/t gold from 40 metres (visible gold)
- 3 metres at 2.15 g/t gold, including 1 metre at 5.69 g/t gold to end of hold from 20 metres
The company says the visible gold observed in drill hole NMWBAC25-897 (8 metres at 1.47 g/t gold, including 4 metres at 2.80 g/t gold) is an indicator of the strength of the gold system at Payns prospect.
