Falcon Gold advances Great Burnt copper-gold project with promising drill results

Falcon Gold Corp (TSX-V:FG, OTC:FGLDF) announced that it has completed its third drill hole at the Great Burnt copper-gold project in Newfoundland and is finalizing the fourth hole, with preparations underway for drilling at Pad #5.

Recent drilling has revealed encouraging mineralization, including blebby to stringer sulphides, transitioning to semi-massive and massive sulphide bands, the company said in a statement on Thursday.

It also observed "pyritic, vuggy, smoky quartz veins", a key indicator of gold-bearing hydrothermal systems, and pyrite, pyrrhotite, and chalcopyrite mineralization, confirming a robust copper-gold system.

Falcon Gold believes these findings indicate proximity to a larger, potentially high-grade mineralized body.

Closing in on major system

The company is “highly encouraged” by the latest drill results from the Great Burnt project, according to Falcon Gold CEO Karim Rayani.

"The geological indicators we are seeing – particularly the significant increase in sulphide mineralization – strongly suggest we are closing in on a major mineralized system,” Rayani said.

“This aligns with our technical team's expectation, reinforcing confidence in our exploration model."

The completion of Hole #5 will be pivotal in determining if the EM anomaly connects to the expanding mineralized zones, the company added.

Core samples are being sent for priority analysis at the IOS-accredited Eastern Analytical Laboratory in Springdale, Newfoundland.

The results will guide Falcon's strategic drill planning as the company continues advancing its exploration of the project.
