EnWave signs master service agreement with US pharma CMO for REV dehydration technology testing

EnWave Corp (TSX-V:ENW, OTC:NWVCF) has signed a master service agreement with US-based pharmaceutical contract manufacturer BioTechnique to evaluate the use of its Radiant Energy Vacuum (REV) dehydration technology as a potential alternative to lyophilization in the biopharmaceutical sector, the company said on Thursday.

As part of the initial collaboration, BioTechnique will conduct paid testing of several liquid products using pilot-scale REV machinery at EnWave’s Innovation Center in British Columbia.

If the technology proves successful, EnWave said BioTechnique may consider acquiring its own REV equipment for drying pharmaceutical products directly for its client base, which includes leading pharmaceutical companies.

BioTechnique specializes in contract research, development, and manufacturing of sterile injectable products, including both liquid and lyophilized formulations. Its capabilities include formulation, quality control testing, temperature-controlled storage, and fill-finish processing for clinical and commercial batches.

EnWave's REV technology is designed to offer a faster and more energy-efficient alternative to traditional freeze-drying, which is widely used in biopharmaceutical production.
