Shares in One Health Group PLC (AIM:OHGR) moved higher as they started trading on London's junior market on Thursday after the NHS outsourcing group raised £7.5 million from institutional and retail investors.
The Sheffield-based company, which provides orthopaedics, spinal surgery, general surgery and gynaecology paid for by the NHS, raised £7.3 million from City fund managers and roughly £200,000 from small investors, all at a price of 180p as it moved up from the Aquis exchange.
By midday, the shares had climbed 5.6% to 190p.
One Health said it plans to spend the proceeds of the fundraising on building its own surgical hub.
Chief executive Adam Binns said admission to AIM "is a pivotal step" for the company.
"This milestone, bolstered by a successful capital raising and strong institutional investor confidence, will enable strategic expansion while maintaining our commitment to reducing patient waiting times and delivering clinical excellence with sustainable growth."
In the six months to end-September, the first half of its current financial year, the group treated 7,857 new patients, carried out 19,674 consultations and performed 3,427 surgical procedures, generating revenues of £13.3 million.
