At its annual GTC event, Nvidia Corp (NASDAQ:NVDA, ETR:NVD) CEO Jensen Huang unveiled the Blackwell Ultra AI chip, the company’s next-generation processor designed to push AI performance even further.
The tech giant also introduced the GB300 superchip, which pairs two Blackwell Ultras with its Grace CPU to power AI workloads for tech giants like Amazon, Google, Microsoft, and Meta.
According to Nvidia, Blackwell Ultra delivers 1.5 times the performance of its predecessor and significantly expands the company’s data centre business.
It is optimised for "AI reasoning," a computing process that mimics human thought. Nvidia argues that its powerful GPUs are essential for these AI models to function effectively.
The chip will be used in Nvidia’s NVL72 server rack system and its DGX SuperPod AI supercomputer, combining hundreds of GPUs and CPUs for unmatched processing power. Despite strong demand, Nvidia’s stock has faced pressure due to concerns over AI investment returns and potential tariffs on semiconductor imports.
Vera Rubin, an even more powerful GPU architecture coming next year, was also featured.
