Riversgold reports high-grade gold in first drilling campaign at Kalgoorlie East’s Northern Zone

Riversgold Ltd is in receipt of some strong assay results from its initial 2025 reverse circulation (RC) drilling campaign at the Kalgoorlie East Gold Project’s Northern Zone, 25 kilometres east of Kalgoorlie, Western Australia.

Expectations exceeded

“The initial results from our first RC campaign of 2025 at Kalgoorlie East have exceeded our expectations, revealing healthy grade and overall tenor within the shallower oxide gold mineralisation at the top of the mineralised porphyry,” RGL chair David Lenigas said.

The company says these initial results from its first RC campaign of the year exceeded expectations and confirmed considerable gold mineralisation within the shallower oxide portion of the porphyry system.

Nine additional drill holes are currently undergoing laboratory analysis, and based on the early success of the program, the company has commenced an additional 2,000 metres of drilling to further define the deposit.

First two drill holes yield results

Hole NZRC007:

  • 7 metres at 3.62 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from 39 metres;
  • 1 metre at 10.81 g/t gold from 42 metres;
  • 1 metre at 12.10 g/t gold from 44 metres; and
  • 1 metre at 3.97 g/t gold from 52 metres.

These results are within a broader 54-metre zone grading 0.65 g/t gold from 39 metres

Hole NZRC008:

  • 5 metres at 4.37 g/t gold from 37 metres; and
  • 1 metre at 15.13 g/t gold from 40 metres.

These intersections are within a broader 54-metre zone grading 0.51 g/t gold from 37 metres

The 11-hole, 1,289-metre RC drilling program targeted shallow depths of 100 to 120 metres, aiming to expand the known gold mineralisation within the Northern Zone porphyry system.

Next up

The results have given the company the confidence to double down on its exploration activities in the area.

With these latest assay results, Riversgold will update its dynamic Leapfrog gold model in the coming weeks to guide future drilling campaigns.

The company is also evaluating potential ore processing strategies, taking cues from Black Cat Syndicate Ltd’s turn-key funding and processing approach at Myhree/Boundary, seven kilometres north of Northern Zone.

Additionally, the company sees similarities between Northern Zone and Saturn Metals’ Apollo Hill Project, which has a resource of 118 million tonnes at 0.53 g/t gold, totalling 2.03 million ounces.

This suggests the potential for a large-scale, low-grade heap leach operation at Northern Zone.

With further assay results pending and continued drilling underway, Riversgold anticipates regular updates in the coming months as it develops both the Northern Zone project and its early-stage gold, copper, silver and antimony discovery in New Brunswick.

“We have 9 more drill holes in the lab awaiting results and based on this initial RC work, we will be adding a further 2,000 metres of drilling starting today,” Lenigas said.

“We will continue the company’s consistent and regular news releases over the coming months, reporting gold results as we advance Northern Zone and report on our new early stage gold, copper silver and antinomy discovery in New Brunswick.”
