Candel Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ:CADL) said on Tuesday it has appointed Dr Elizabeth Jaffee to its research advisory board.
Jaffee, an internationally recognized expert in cancer immunology and pancreatic cancer, currently serves as the Dana and Albert "Cubby" Broccoli Professor of Oncology and Deputy Director of the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins.
She is also co-director of the Gastrointestinal Cancers Program, with a research focus on biomarker-driven immunotherapy clinical trials.
Her appointment comes as Candel advances its CAN-2409 program for borderline resectable pancreatic cancer, following positive survival data.
“We are delighted to welcome Dr Jaffee to our high-profile Research Advisory Board,” said Paul Peter Tak, CEO of Candel said in a statement.
“Her deep expertise in pancreatic cancer and immunotherapy aligns perfectly with our mission, particularly as we advance our CAN-2409 program.”
Candel said Jaffee’s expertise will help guide the design of its late-stage, potentially registrational clinical trial for CAN-2409 in borderline resectable pancreatic cancer.
