Huddled Group PLC (AIM:HUD) shares rose 5% in early trading after the e-commerce firm bolstered its board with two key appointments.
Paul Simpson, co-founder of Nutricircle, has been promoted to chief operating officer and will oversee the group’s entire operations.
Named in Forbes’ 30 Under 30 Europe list in 2021, Simpson built surplus food retailer Food Circle Supermarket from scratch, reaching £1.4 million in annual revenue before its acquisition by Huddled in 2024.
Meanwhile, retail veteran Mike Ashley joins as an independent director. His extensive experience spans roles at Boots, Argos, Dixons Retail, and Holland & Barrett, with a track record in scaling businesses and driving growth.
CEO Martin Higginson said their appointments highlight Huddled’s growth ambitions, bringing operational expertise and strategic insight to drive the company’s next phase of expansion.
