Resolution Minerals starts exploration analysis for newly acquired Drake East Antimony-Gold Project

Resolution Minerals Ltd has kicked off exploration at the recently acquired Drake East Antimony-Gold Project in New South Wales, on the scent of high-grade antimony and gold assets.

Key activities

Resolution Minerals has launched a LiDAR interpretation study at the Drake East Project, for which it engaged specialist consultancy GeoCloud Analytics.

Executive director Aharon Zaetz said: “The LiDAR interpretation will provide RML a truer indication of the extent of antimony mineralisation occurring at Drake East.

"As the market has seen with Legacy, in their case, a 100% increase in the number of known mine workings, this program for RML will not only confirm existing targets but will generate possible new targets. It would be our objective to map and sample these targets in the near-term.”

The study, which is expected to deliver initial results within 10 business days, will assist the company in identifying historical workings and geomorphological features linked to antimony and gold mineralisation.

In addition to the LiDAR study, the company has initiated a comprehensive desktop review to refine exploration targets and optimise development strategies.

The in-depth analysis afforded by the desktop review will help build a clearer understanding of the project's potential and inform the next phase of fieldwork.

The start of exploration at Drake East coincides with a period of record-high antimony and gold prices.

In 2024, antimony experienced a 250% price surge due to global supply concerns following China's export ban.

Promising location

Drake East is adjacent to Legacy Minerals Ltd’s Drake Gold-Copper Project, which is developing a large epithermal gold-copper mineralised system.

Antimony occurrences within RML’s project are considered part of the broader mineralised zone extending from Legacy’s Drake Project.

Legacy Minerals recently reported rock chip results from its Lunatic Prospect, located 2.2 km from Drake East, returning assays of 30% antimony and 0.38 g/t gold.

RML’s own historical assays indicate high-grade mineralisation, including peak values of 5.72% antimony, 60.9 g/t gold and 214 g/t silver over a 15-kilometre strike length.

Next steps

Resolution Minerals is implementing a systematic exploration program to assess the full potential of the Drake East Project.

The company plans to:

Use LiDAR technology to detect hidden mine workings and structural features that may indicate further mineralisation.

Conduct geophysical surveys and geochemical sampling to refine drill targets.

Evaluate historical production sites, such as the Mosquito Creek Antimony-Gold Reef and the Ball and Smiths Lode, for further exploration and potential resource definition.
