Georgina Energy PLC (LSE:GEX) confirmed it now has boots on the ground at the Hussar site, in Western Australia, where an environmental impact survey and a heritage report are now underway.
These are prerequisites for securing drilling approval, it noted.
Georgina's team is monitoring site conditions, with weather safety precautions in place via satellite communication.
Contractors will also inspect the well site area, with initial findings showing that access roads and the airstrip require repairs following recent heavy rainfall and flooding.
"The successful arrival on site of the Georgina team is a welcome development following the unforeseen weather-related delays,” chief executive Anthony Hamilton said in a statement.
“The completed EIS2 and cultural heritage survey will be lodged as soon as practical to secure drilling approval at EP513 Hussar."
