Brookside Energy Ltd has achieved key milestones in the drilling of the Bruins Well, located in the SWISH Area of Interest (AOI) in the Anadarko Basin, Oklahoma.
The company has completed the running and cementing of the intermediate casing string and landed the wellbore curve within the target bench of the Woodford Shale. This marks the transition from vertical to horizontal drilling, optimally positioning the well within the reservoir to maximise production potential.

The successful installation of the intermediate casing and precise landing of the curve in the target zone represents major milestones in de-risking our drilling operations and optimising production potential,” Brookside’s managing director, David Prentice said.

Production growth and industry expansion
Bruins Well is the ninth operated well in the SWISH Play, aligning with Brookside’s strategy to sustain and grow production while expanding its inventory of high-return, low-risk drilling locations in the Woodford and Sycamore formations. Drilling has progressed, with the intermediate casing secured to ensure wellbore integrity and provide a stable foundation for the lateral drilling phase.
Working closely with the Kenai Rig 19 drilling team, Brookside has landed the curve in the Woodford Shale at approximately 7,400 feet, a crucial step in maximising reservoir exposure. Operations are now focused on efficiently drilling the lateral to the planned target depth.
