Shares in Orosur Mining Inc (AIM:OMI, TSX-V:OMI) jumped as much as 8% in early trading on Monday after the company released promising new drilling results from its flagship Anzá gold project in Colombia.
Investors were encouraged by fresh assay results from the Pepas prospect, which confirmed substantial gold mineralisation over thick intervals. One standout drill hole returned 62.5 metres at 5.4 grams per tonne of gold, while another intercepted nearly 80 metres of mineralisation.
Orosur has been rapidly advancing Anzá since taking full control of the project in late 2024, after buying out its former joint venture partner. The project sits in Colombia’s highly prospective Mid-Cauca gold belt, home to several world-class gold and copper deposits.
Alongside drilling at Pepas, Orosur has begun an aeromagnetic survey to map the area’s geology in more detail and is preparing to explore its El Cedro prospect.
The company is also carrying out metallurgical testing to better understand how its gold can be processed.
After an initial spike, the stock was up 0.4p at 11.05p.
