Olympio Metals Ltd has received final approvals for its maiden drilling program at the Dasserat Porphyry gold-copper (Au-Cu) target and the Chevrier Copper Sulphide target in Québec, Canada. Diamond drilling is set to start next week, with drilling contractor Forage Val d’Or engaged to complete the planned 1,500-metre program.
A ground electromagnetic (EM) survey has confirmed and refined an extensive historical induced polarisation (IP) anomaly at Dasserat, spanning more than 1,200 metres of strike. The target is considered highly analogous to the nearby Galloway Project, which hosts more than 1.4 million ounces of gold.
The Dufay Project covers 10 kilometres of strike along the well-endowed Cadillac Break regional structure and is located 35 kilometres west of the Rouyn-Noranda mining centre and copper smelter. Clearing of drill tracks and pads has begun, with the rig mobilising to site next week.

“The recent EM survey has confirmed and refined the Dasserat target, and we are looking forward to drilling this large, shallow porphyry Au-Cu target, which is over 1200m in length,” Olympio managing director Sean Delaney said.
“The geological setting is very similar to the nearby Galloway Au-Cu resource, yet it has never been drilled. Drill tracks are currently being cut, and the drillers are ready to mobilise. Explo Logik has done a great job handling the permitting process and all the necessary approvals are in place now.”

Drilling to target Dasserat Porphyry and Chevrier Cu-Sulphide veins
A recent electromagnetic (EM) survey over the Dasserat target identified anomalous responses on every survey line, aligning closely with the historical induced polarisation (IP) anomalies recorded in a 2011 survey. Maxwell plate modelling by TMC Geophysics has characterised these anomalies as thick, steep to moderately dipping weak conductors with a shallow depth to the top.
The Dasserat target is prospective for porphyry-style gold-copper (Au-Cu) mineralisation, typically associated with disseminated sulphides. Its geophysical signature is comparable to the Hendrick Zone at the nearby Galloway Project, which hosts an inferred mineral resource of 38 million tonnes at 1.06 grams per tonne gold for 1.29 million ounces.
The upcoming drilling program at Dasserat will target coincident IP and EM anomalies with seven planned holes totalling 1,200 metres. Additionally, the Chevrier copper sulphide vein system will be tested with approximately four holes for 450 metres.
