Giga Metals Corp (OTCQX:GIGGF)(TSXV:GIGA) CEO Mark Jarvis talked with Proactive's Angela Harmantas from the PDAC conference in Toronto at PDAC 2025 about the company’s latest developments at the Turnagain Project in British Columbia. He discussed the impact of falling nickel prices after the company published a pre-feasibility study (PFS) in October 2023 in partnership with Mitsubishi.
Jarvis highlighted that despite challenging market conditions, Giga Metals is advancing its exploration efforts. He noted that 80% of the ultramafic intrusive at Turnagain remains unexplored. The company engaged geologist Dr. Steven Beresford, who has identified promising nickel and copper targets beneath previously explored areas. There is also a two-kilometer-long copper soil anomaly that could indicate a significant discovery.
Giga Metals is actively engaging with investors to fund exploration work, including geophysical surveys to refine drill targets. While overall sentiment towards nickel remains weak, Jarvis emphasized that contrarian investors see opportunities at current price levels. He also pointed to broader strength in commodity markets, particularly in gold and copper, as a positive indicator for the mining sector.
