Centaurus Metals Ltd (OTCQX:CTTZF) CEO Darren Gordon talked with Proactive's Angela Harmantas at the PDAC conference in Toronto about the company’s latest progress on the Jaguar Nickel Sulfide Project in Brazil. The conversation highlighted key insights from the recent feasibility study, which confirmed Jaguar’s strong cost position, placing it in the bottom quartile of global nickel producers.
Gordon explained that the company is focused on optimizing the project further through value engineering, refining the mine plan and processing route to enhance nickel concentrate grades. He stated, *“We’ve got a pilot program that showed we can now get over 30% in nickel concentrate, which really doesn’t exist anywhere else in the world.”*
The company is also advancing licensing and securing funding, with capital expenditure estimated at approximately $370 million. While nickel prices are currently under pressure due to high supply from Indonesia, Gordon emphasized the long-term potential, saying, *“When nickel does pop, it generally pops really hard. You want to be operational when those moments come.”*
With Jaguar positioned to be a cost-competitive producer, Centaurus believes the project offers a compelling investment opportunity.
