Chesapeake Gold Corp (OTCQX:CHPGF)(TSXV:CKG) CEO Jean-Paul Tsotsos talked with Proactive about the company's latest advancements, including its proprietary gold extraction technology. Speaking with Angela Harmantas at PDAC 2025, Tsotsos highlighted Chesapeake’s flagship project, the Metates gold-silver deposit, which holds 19.0 million ounces of gold and nearly 500.0 million ounces of silver.
Tsotsos discussed Chesapeake's recent acquisition of a patented metallurgical technology designed to improve gold recovery from refractory ores. "We are achieving up to 75% gold recoveries with the technology, compared to just 33% using conventional heap leaching," he explained. The process, which eliminates the need for costly autoclaves and flotation cells, significantly reduces capital expenditures, making gold extraction more efficient and economical.
He emphasized that this technology has the potential to transform the mining industry by unlocking previously uneconomical deposits. Chesapeake has secured full control of the intellectual property, further strengthening its strategic position.
