Western Uranium & Vanadium Corp. (OTCQX:WSTRF) (CSE:WUC) CEO George Glasier talked with Proactive's Angela Harmantas from the PDAC conference in Toronto about the company’s major milestones over the past year and its strategic direction for the future.
Glasier highlighted that Western Uranium has doubled its workforce, mainly hiring miners, and now has four out of five mines ready for production. The company is gearing up operations at the Sunday Mines complex in Colorado, with high-grade ore prepared for shipment under an agreement with Energy Fuels. Glasier expects shipments to begin in the next month or two.
Additionally, Western Uranium has been expanding through strategic acquisitions. It has entered a joint venture for two operating mines and recently acquired a site for a new uranium processing plant near the Sunday Mines complex. This processing plant is seen as crucial for the company’s long-term strategy, given that existing facilities may focus on rare earths rather than uranium and vanadium.
Looking ahead, Glasier noted that the U.S. may ban Russian uranium imports by 2028, which could drive uranium prices higher. He emphasized that Western Uranium is positioning itself to meet future demand.
