Brightstar Resources confirms continuity of Lord Nelson high-grade gold in maiden Sandstone drilling

Brightstar Resources Ltd has fielded strong final results from a 3,700-metre reverse circulation (RC) drilling program at Lord Nelson deposit within the consolidated Sandston Gold Project in WA, with grades up to 40 metres at 1.89 g/t gold from 178 metres.

The company's maiden Sandstone drilling program confirmed the continuity of high-grade gold mineralisation within the optimised pit shell at Lord Nelson as well as extensions of gold at depth, an indicator of potential future resource growth.

BTR is conducting an aggressive 55,000-metre RC drilling program targeting mineral inventory growth, wasting no time in expanding the project resource after acquiring Alto Metals and the company’s Sandstone tenements.

Systematic and sustained exploration

“The results from our first drill program at the Lord Nelson deposit within our Sandstone Gold Project are significant, highlighting the continuity of the high-grade mineralisation and the robustness of the current mineral resource,” Brightstar Resources managing director Alex Rovira said.

“Drilling is ongoing with the RC rig now at the Vanguard Camp, infilling key areas for future resource upgrades and targeting extensions to the high-grade Vanguard North deposit.

“This drilling represents the start of our exploration focus at Sandstone and with over 80,000 metres of total drilling planned for the year at our Sandstone Hub, we look forward to rapidly advancing these assets through systematic and sustained exploration and feasibility study workstreams.”

The Sandstone Project holds a mineral resource of 1.5 million ounces at 1.5 g/t gold from surface.

Assays of note from this batch of results include:

  • 40 metres at 1.89 g/t gold from 178 metres, including 15 metres at 3.07 g/t from 196 metres;
  • 22 metres at 2.38 g/t from 228 metres;
  • 22 metres at 2.05 g/t from 216 metres;
  • 4 metres at 4.23 g/t from 172 metres;
  • 14 metres at 2.27 g/t from 212 metres, including 4 metres at 4.97 g/t from 212 metres;
  • 4 metres at 3.11 g/t from 148 metres;
  • 8 metres at 5.06 g/t from 170 metres, including 1 metre at 17.89 g/t from 174 metres;
  • 3 metres at 6.03 g/t from 183 metres, including 1 metre at 14.81 g/t from 184 metres; and
  • 4 metres at 3.59 g/t from 205 metres, including 1 metre at 11.13 g/t from 211 metres.
